Find Flight Deals More Easily with Going
Planning a trip often begins with searching for flights, but airfare can change frequently and comparing different dates, destinations, and airlines can take a considerable amount of time. Going approaches the process differently by focusing on flight deal alerts rather than requiring travelers to search repeatedly on their own.
Going allows members to select their preferred US departure airports and receive alerts when attractive fares appear. The service monitors airfare to more than 900 destinations and sends deal information by email or, through the app, push notification.
Instead of beginning every trip with a fixed destination, travelers can use these alerts as inspiration. A lower-than-usual fare to a city they had not previously considered may create an opportunity for a different type of holiday.
Going is not a traditional booking website. When travelers find a deal they like, the service provides the flight information and booking links so the actual reservation can be completed separately.
Let Going Bring Travel Ideas to Your Inbox
Many people plan travel by choosing a destination first and then looking for flights. Going can encourage the opposite approach by highlighting destinations when particularly interesting fares appear.
This can be useful for flexible travelers who care more about finding an affordable opportunity than visiting one specific place on one exact date.
Members begin by selecting departure airports they are willing to use. Going then watches fares and sends alerts when prices drop for eligible destinations. The company says alerts include flight details, booking information, and an indication of how long a fare may remain available.
Following more than one convenient departure airport may also create additional possibilities for travelers who live within reasonable distance of several airports.
The important part is deciding how flexible a trip can be. Travelers with fixed dates may still need to search directly for suitable flights, while people with greater flexibility can use fare alerts to discover destinations they might otherwise have missed.
Explore Domestic and International Trips with Going
Travel goals can vary considerably. One trip may involve a short domestic getaway, while the next could be a longer international holiday.
Going currently offers different membership levels that provide access to different types of deals. Its free Limited plan includes a selection of continental US deals, while Premium expands access to domestic and international economy deals and custom destination alerts.
This can make the service useful for people whose travel plans change throughout the year. Someone may initially be interested in a nearby weekend destination but later decide to explore opportunities in Europe, Asia, or another international region.
Going states that it monitors fares to more than 900 destinations around the world.
Travelers should still examine the details of each fare before booking. Baggage policies, travel dates, airport locations, connection times, and ticket conditions can all influence whether a cheap fare is genuinely suitable.
The lowest price is useful only when the itinerary also works for the traveler.
Follow Dream Destinations with Going
Sometimes travelers know exactly where they would like to go but are flexible about when the trip happens. In these situations, destination-specific fare alerts can be particularly useful.
Going’s Premium membership currently includes custom destination alerts alongside access to international and domestic economy deals.
A traveler interested in Japan, for example, may not want to check airfare every day for several months. Setting an alert can provide another way to watch for interesting opportunities while continuing with normal travel planning.
This approach can also be useful for major trips that do not need to happen on a particular weekend. Honeymoons, long holidays, family visits, and bucket-list journeys may all benefit from having flexibility around departure dates.
Once a fare appears, travelers can compare it with their preferred dates, accommodation costs, visa requirements, and other expenses before making a decision.
Flight price should be part of the overall travel budget rather than the only factor considered.
Discover Premium Cabin Opportunities with Going
Not every traveler is looking exclusively for economy fares. Long international journeys can make premium economy, business class, and first class more appealing, particularly when a significant fare reduction appears.
Going’s Elite membership includes the economy benefits available through Premium while adding alerts for premium economy, business class, and first-class deals.
This can provide another way for travelers interested in premium cabins to monitor opportunities without repeatedly checking individual airline websites.
Premium cabin pricing can vary significantly depending on the route, season, airline, and availability. A deal alert may therefore encourage someone to consider a destination or travel period they had not originally planned.
Travelers should still compare the complete itinerary before purchasing. Connection length, aircraft type, operating airline, airport changes, lounge eligibility, and fare conditions can all affect the overall experience.
A lower premium-cabin fare can be attractive, but understanding exactly what is included remains important.
Use Going Alongside Flexible Travel Planning
Flight alerts work particularly well when travelers can remain somewhat flexible about dates and destinations. Going itself recommends combining fare alerts with tools such as Google Flights when researching and confirming travel options.
Someone who receives an interesting Going alert can examine nearby dates, compare alternative airports, and review different itineraries before deciding whether to book.
Travelling during shoulder seasons can sometimes provide additional advantages. Going notes that periods between peak and low seasons may offer lower fares while also bringing smaller crowds and favorable travel conditions in some destinations.
Flexibility does not necessarily mean accepting an inconvenient journey simply because it is inexpensive. Travelers can still prioritise reasonable departure times, manageable connections, and airlines that suit their needs.
The goal is to use price information as one part of a thoughtful travel decision.
Combining fare alerts with careful planning can make it easier to recognise when an opportunity genuinely fits.
Turn Unexpected Flight Deals into Trips with Going
One of the interesting aspects of flight deal services is that they can introduce destinations travelers had not previously considered.
Going began from this idea. Founder Scott Keyes found a low roundtrip fare from New York City to Milan, shared later deals with friends, and the project eventually developed into Scott’s Cheap Flights. The company rebranded as Going in 2023 and says it now serves more than two million travelers.
That history reflects a different approach to travel planning: sometimes an unusually attractive airfare can become the starting point for the entire journey.
A traveler who originally planned to visit one country might discover another destination at a more appealing price. Someone without firm holiday plans could use an alert as inspiration for a spontaneous getaway.
Going currently offers free and paid membership options, allowing travelers to choose the level of alerts that matches the kinds of trips they are interested in.
From domestic getaways to international economy trips and premium-cabin opportunities, Going provides a way to keep an eye on airfare without constantly searching. For travelers who are open to adjusting dates, airports, or destinations, those alerts can become a useful starting point for discovering where the next trip might lead.
